Every single day, Francis wakes up at 3 a.m. to cook meals for around 80 stray dogs across Bintulu, including at a local Chinese cemetery. Known as “Daddy Bella” after his loyal adopted dog, he also founded the Extrameal Bintulu Project to help struggling families.
Even when his shop and belongings were swept away during the flood on 29 January 2025, Francis rescued his furry friends first, showing that compassion always comes first.
From feeding, sterilising, and providing medical care, to advocating for humane stray management, Francis does it all with the help of his community and donations.
